Have you ever heard of a capsule wardrobe or buying closet staples?
I’ve talked quite a few times about closet staples or “must haves” items that should always be in your closet in case of a wardrobe emergency. These tend to be pieces that are neutral, can be mixed and matched with different looks and can be dressed up or down.
I shared a closet staple dress in this post here, a basic striped dress or top in this post here, why you should definitely own a moto jacket in this post here and why a great denim jacket should also be on that closet staple list in this post here.
Well, today I wanted to share another piece that I’ve grown to love, not only because I had it before I was pregnant and wore it all the time, BUT because I was able to wear it during my entire pregnancy as well making it a great staple piece for anyone’s closet.
I’m talking about a good olé blazer.
A classic blazer can be worn to work with slacks, with ripped denim and a tee, with shorts and a tank, or over a dress for a special occasion. Now that’s the definition of a closet staple piece!
When I scooped up this camel blazer online, I was a little skeptical at first, hoping that it wasn’t too “fancy or structured” looking. When I opened it up and put it on, I was so happy with the final look! It fits PERFECTLY, is super comfortable and has the most adorable striped lining inside. I immediately ordered it in the navy color as well, as these blazers are such classic pieces.
If you haven’t clicked “add to cart” on these over the knee boots yet, you should. They are one of the only over the knee boots I own that don’t fall down, are stretchy enough around the legs for anyone with wider calves and are super comfortable to walk around in all day. They will be super cute as well through spring with a floral dress or a classic black skirt for work.
I get asked a lot about closet staples, so I’m hoping that these post can help simplify your closet, make getting dressed easier for you and keep you focused on pieces that will last you through a couple of seasons by mixing and matching.
Thanks for reading!
(and still nooooooo baby yet!)
