What’s On The Menu

This year I started planning out weekly menus on Sunday, shopping for them Monday and truthfully it’s made my life so much easier. There’s no wondering what’s for dinner, or just door dashing because the day gets away from us. I love getting ideas from other people so I thought I would make a little post with what we ate last week on here! I also get asked a ton about pans, choppers, and other kitchen tools I used, so I linked those at the end of this post!

MONDAY: Taco salads – I don’t use a recipe for this, we just kind of wing it! We get 90/10 ground beef, taco seasoning and then layer up our bowls. I like to add chopped tomatoes, avocado, black olives, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, a little chopped purple onion and some tortillas chips on top. I also just use my favorite salsa as the dressing – it’s totally enough flavor and fewer calories! (I like the Trader Joes Salsa Verde).

TUESDAY: We cooked up Brunch with Babs Sausage + gnocchi sheet pan dinner and it was delish! Very easy to make and would also be great with a sauce. We just got her new cookbook (where this recipe is from) and we are loving it! You can follow her on Instagram too for more awesome and easy recipes.

WEDNESDAY: I’ve been making & sharing this spinach, corn and grilled chicken salad for YEARS. It’s probably my all time favorite summer salad and I can never get enough of it when the weather is nice + paired with a nice white Sauvignon Blanc wine is perfection.

THURSDAY: We had a spontaneous date night that we didn’t expect so we ate at the new 1933 Lounge restaurant in our town. It was incredible. Delicious food, amazing decor + location and such a vibe! We started with the super popular shrimp cocktail and waygu sliders and for entrees, I got salmon + Bryan got steak. We also had a side of the creme corn and it was out of this world! I hope we get to go back soon!

FRIDAY: Flank steak with a side of macaroni salad and Caesar salad. This is one of my favorite meals because it’s easy and delicious. Bryan cooked the steak perfectly and marinated it with this new sauce (incredible!! He just marinated it for 3 hours prior before smoking it). We got our steak and macaroni salad from Joes Butcher shop and it never disappoints! I also went simple with a bagged Caesar salad but added an heirloom tomato which took it up a notch!

Here are some of my favorite and most used kitchen accessories + tools:

Let me know if you all like these kind of posts – I honestly LOVE watching what people cook and make during the week as it gives me good ideas for my family!
