Here we are weeks away from meeting baby boy and I thought it was time for my second trimester recap post! Better late than never and always a good resource to come back to if you become pregnant in the future. If you missed my first trimester recap post, you can find that HERE.
The second trimester in my opinion is the best. My nausea was completely gone and I totally felt the most energy during this period of time!
A little tip for my new mamas: try to get as much done for baby in this second trimester (aka, nursery, car seats, washing clothes, etc) because you will be more tired in the third trimester! I definitely put off some things this second time around and I’m kicking myself because I can’t move or bend as well as I could in the second trimester…haha!
Seriously though, why is it that I drop so many more things now than I did before I was pregnant?! Anyone else?
Here are the items I used the most in my second trimester! I really didn’t want to buy a bulky pregnancy pillow but I’m so happy I ended up doing so. It definitely helped!
As far as style and clothing go, this Free People Skirt has been a major winner for me my entire pregnancy! It’s not maternity but fits a bump so well and comes in over 13 color options! I went with my true size small and it fit my bump the entire 9 months – super stretchy and easy to style up for a dressier event or down more casually.
Another little styling tip for my mamas feeling like they aren’t fitting into their clothes the best – grab a few maternity basics – stretchy tees, tanks and a few pairs of pregnancy jeans (Pink Blush has the best affordable maternity denim in my opinion) and then style some cute non-maternity jackets with those basics. You’ll feel like yourself, plus extra stylish AND you’ll be comfy!
This jacket has been one of my go-tos as it’s super stretchy and just adds the right amount of “put togetherness” with a basic neutral tee (code ASHDONIELLE gets you 20% off – it’s true to size but if between sizes, size up – I’m in a small – comes in black too).
Overall, this pregnancy has been great for me and I feel VERY lucky! Still stuffy…yes, haha BUT those breathe right strips work like a CHARM.
If you are in your first trimester and not feeling your best, keep on going mama, it gets better!
