Splurge vs. Steal – Fall Edition 2018

Every spring and fall I do a splurge vs. steal round up post and EVERY time, they are the most popular and viewed posts for months and months on my blog. It’s that time of the year again and just because new trends are here, does not mean that you have to break the bank to get them.

I’m putting together one of my all time, classic fall outfits for you guys today – a chambray dress with some trendy accessories. One look is over $1000 and the other look is under $150.

ONE

Having a basic black fedora hat in your wardrobe for fall is a MUST. I wear hats ALL fall long, mainly because it’s windy and rainy and I don’t want to do my hair, but also because they add the best little accessory touch to any outfit.

TWO

Every fall, a classic chambray dress is one of my go-to outfits. It’s the best basic canvas for any accessory, bootie, hat or scarf. What do I mean by that?! Basically anything goes with it! Have a colorful boot you want to wear? Pair it with a chambray dress. Have a big plaid blanket scarf you want to show off? A chambray dress is a perfect match.

THREE

Along with a basic chambray dress, a classic khaki scarf is another fall must have. Some people love to spend a pretty penny on a cashmere scarf but there are plenty of other options that look exactly the same but for under $20!

A pop of a red lip just screams fall style to me. You all know that I LOVE my Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks but I understand that they may be a little too pricey for everyone, even though they are so moisturizing and worth every penny! “Carina’s Love” by Charlotte Tilbury is one of my all time favorite colors and I’ve finally found a drugstore dupe for under $7!

FIVE

Gucci belts are all the rage in the blogger world right now and guess what?! Many of the ones you see on your favorite bloggers are dupes! I got mine last year when I went to Paris (dupe options weren’t out yet, so mine is the real deal) and it’s definitely an investment. Want to look the part for under $20, I’ve got you covered!

Want to add a pop of leopard into your fall wardrobe this year? Try a fun leopard bootie! I have a pair of leopard boots from three seasons ago and I still wear them year after year each fall. They really add a fun touch to any outfit.

There you have it! A great, fashion forward look for the season without spending a pretty penny. The best part?! All of these pieces can be styled and worn MULTIPLE different ways. Style the leopard boots with black denim and a blouse, or a fun skirt and off the shoulder sweater. Unbutton the chambray dress and style it over a white tank and suede skirt.

The options are endless.

Happy Tuesday!
