St. Patty’s Day Green Smoothie

Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m Natalie (@themodernmamahood) and I blog over at The Modern Mamahood. Ashley absolutely loves a good healthy smoothie so I’m taking over her blog today to bring you a SUPER green smoothie packed full of goodness. St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and we all know this means some serious adult beverages will be going down. With that said, let’s kick the day off with a nutritious green smoothie to counteract all that sinning! 

I LOVE a fun holiday theme so I thought it was only fitting to put a healthy spin on the traditional shamrock shake. 

This green smoothie is packed with superfoods and it’s vegan gluten free and has no added sugar.

Let’s get right into the goodness.


10-12 mint leaves

1 tbsp coconut oil

½ cup spinach

1 banana

½ an avocado

1 tsp vanilla (*or 1 tbsp honey)

1-2 cups almond milk

1 cup of ice

*Optional to add 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder to make it a meal replacement.


Put all ingredients into a high powered blender, blend and serve. 

Fun Facts:

Avocado and coconut oil are both healthy fats which are amazing for your heart, skin, nails, and cholesterol just to name a few. 

Spinach is low in fat and low in cholesterol. 

Spinach is also high in zinc, protein, fiber, vitamins A, C, E, and K, calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, copper, and manganese. I MEAN come on! So healthy!
