Oversized Sweater Weather


Tis' the season for sweater weather!
 One of my favorite times of the year! I'm especially loving the look of the oversized sweater aka grandpa cardigan. You know those cardigans that your grandpa always use to wear with the stripes or  plaid pattern on them? Ya, those are totally back in style. I usually love styling them with some high waisted denim, a simple tee and some ankle booties. Since I'm now styling my bump, I've found that wearing an oversized cardigan over a simple t-shirt dress or bodycon dress with boots is just as cute.

I'm not sure if you guys remember, but during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, Topshop came out with some REALLY cute oversized cardigans....and then they sold out in one hour.....and never restocked. Devastating I know. BUT I was so happy to basically find this identical one by Goodnight Macaroon last month! Almost the exact same beige color with similar black and white stripe detailing. Score!

Something Navy x Nordstrom


The day is finally here!
I can't even begin to explain how excited I've been about this new Nordstrom launch! I've been a reader of Something Navy's blog for YEARS. 
I love everything about her effortless, trendy, chic city style, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out that she was designing a collection with Nordstrom and TREASURE & BOND. Talk about an amazing collaboration.

Over a week ago, I got a little sneak peek of the collection at my local Nordstrom and fell in love with almost every piece. I even got to bring home two pairs of THESE AMAZING MULES early, which you all MOST definitely need in your closet STAT. (But seriously, the white are to die for!)

Some of the girls on the Something Navy team have been answering questions this past week over on their Instagram so I thought I would share them on here as I found them super helpful while shopping for sizes and such.

How does the sizing run? True to size?
Most of the pieces are offered from an XXS - XL. Denim starts at 23 and skirts are 0-14. Shoes are offered size 5-11 including half sizes.
Apparel is all true to size so whatever you would normally wear. EXCEPTIONS: Both skirts and black jeans only run slightly large so size down on these. All the basic knit sweaters are intended to be more of a boyfriend fit and oversized so if anything, size down if you prefer to be more fitted.
Shoes all fit true to size!

Will the products be restocked once they sell out?
Unfortunately no! Only thing we can think of is if people return sizes but no one wants to rely on that!

What's the return policy?
The TBxSomethingnavy line will adhere to Nordstrom's standard return policy...which is the best return policy ever. Return for credit or refund or simply exchange for a different size at your leisure.

What's the one piece I absolutely need/favorites?
Everything is seriously SO good....as a little background, Arielle actually had to cut the collection down (it took some time and wasn't easy!) so these are all her absolutely must-have favorites that she was obsessed with.

Which color do you suggest buying of the flats?
So tough! We currently love the white leather since it's perfect as a fall transitional color, but the silver is amazing for a statement shoe. The black and navy suedes are perfect as a staple - you really can't go wrong!

Favorite Finds For Fall

I know some of you are still melting in the heat, but over here in the San Francisco area, each day is looking more and more like fall! YAY!
I've said it before on here but fall is one of my absolute favorite seasons when it comes to styling. I love how many accessories you can add to a look with hats & scarfs and don't even get me started on the boot options. And layers... I love them.

With the change of seasons comes switching your wardrobe over. I always keep some of my favorite sweaters and scarves from the previous year but I also always like to add a few basic fall/winter necessities to my wardrobe when it comes time. I've been browsing online and in some stores now that most of the fall attire is out and I've found some great deals on some perfect fall staple pieces. Pieces that will last you all season, can be styled multiple different ways and can be worn for many years to come. I've rounded up my favorite fall finds and explaining why I love them below!

Pattern Mixing


Let's talk pattern mixing. 
Some people think it's a totally no go. Some people rock it all the time. 
Well, let me tell you, it was ALL over New York Fashion week, so it's totally a popular trend at the moment, so I say.....give it a try!

When I think about mixing patterns in my wardrobe, I try to pick a clothing piece with a pattern and then a smaller accessory to mix in the other pattern, such as shoes or a purse. Two of my absolute favorite patterns to mix are nautical stripes and leopard print.
I feel like they just go together SO well.

What I Wore To NYFW


As most of you know, I just returned from New York Fashion Week and all I can really say is "what a crazy experience!"
It was very surreal to be there. Sitting at the Skylight, watching real models walk down the runway in some amazing designer pieces has always been a HUGE dream of mine. There really is no way to explain the feeling of actually being at a real runway show....let's just say I teared up a few times! Not only were the shows fun, but watching the fashion week street style was one of my favorite experiences.

Prague

We both had never been to Prague before so this city was a new adventure for us. How did we decide on Prague? Well, it fit well into our plans and was only about a short hour or so flight from Venice. Also, Prague has been on Bryan's list for a while now and we wanted a new city for both of us, so Prague it was!

It might still be 100 degrees outside, but it's September and that means it's time to buy boots. This is always the BEST time to buy shoes for fall even if you won't wear them for a couple of weeks because the selection is plentiful and the sizes are always stocked.  If you wait until it actually gets cooler, then everyone starts shopping for boots which means the good picks are gone and sizes are limited.

Target has always been my go-to for fall shoes. Last year was probably one of the best shoe years I've ever seen at Target and this year doesn't disappoint either. First off, let me explain something. This is not a sponsored post with Target. I just LOVE their selection, the pricing and the comfort of their shoes. But really, some of my most comfortable boots and heels are from Target.

And Then There Were Three


SURPRISE!!

Bryan & I are so excited to announce that we are expecting a baby girl in early February!
The day has finally come where we can share the news with all of you and we are so happy to finally be able to talk about it freely! Man is it hard to keep such an exciting secret! 

We found out we were pregnant the beginning of June and have been falling more in love with our baby girl with every appointment. I still stop from time to time and think to myself "is there really a baby in there?!" Such a crazy, amazing experience that I really don't think you can fully understand until it happens to you. 
As of now, I'm 18 weeks and well into my second trimester. I'm so lucky to say that I've had no morning sickness (I know, don't hate me!) and have just felt tired here and there.  I really can't complain!






You might be wondering why we took so long to announce the news?! I know some of my friends and family have been DYING to share our secret! In the long run, we wanted to get through some important appointments and find out the sex of the baby before we decided to publicly share the news. Actually, right now as you read this, we are announcing the sex of the baby to our families and celebrating our little babe with everyone we love!






I'm so excited to have a platform on here to share our journey and I'm even more excited to dive into the world of pregnancy style. I've already had so much fun putting together outfits for New York Fashion Week that show off the bump and can't wait to share them with you. But don't you worry....this blog won't become a full blown baby blog as I will continue to share seasonal styles, beauty favorites and travel guides with you.

There are lots of exciting things about being pregnant for the first time, but I have to say, one of the things I'm most excited to watch is Bryan become the best Dad to a little girl. Before Bryan & I were married, my friends would always say, "You guys have to have a girl because Bryan would just be the sweetest Dad to a little girl". I couldn't agree more and I can't wait to watch it all begin in February.

I’ve never really held a baby that I wasn’t related to.

I’ve never changed a diaper or fed a baby a bottle.

I grew up with two brothers.

So I’m basically prepared for this… Right?

We’ve been smiling since the second we knew (in between a few happy tears).  I am beyond excited & I cannot wait to meet her.  

Ashley is going to be such an incredible mom.  Ash is beautiful, smart, passionate, funny, independent, stylish… among so many other things. We’ve shared a lot of adventures together over the years, but this one tops the list.  We’re going to need another passport!

I am so excited to be a dad.  Lots to learn, but so much to look forward to.  Thank you all for your support of Ashley, her blog, and our family!

We are so thankful for the outpouring of love from our family and friends so far and I can't even imagine how much that love will grow as we welcome this baby girl in February.
