Heartwood Coffee Club

I love starting my day with a fresh cup of coffee. And when I say love, I MEAN LOVE. Like we own a Keurig, a Nespresso machine, a plain coffee pot and a french press. Ok ok, I know a little ridiculous BUT I like options people! I love our Keurig because it's quick and perfect for filling up your thermos cup as you are heading out the door for work. And I love our Nespresso machine because it creates the most delicious (and pretty) espresso ever and you can make fancier drinks with it. But sometimes if I have time in the morning, I crave a good strong french press coffee. There's just something about the way french press coffee tastes that is so different. To me, it's stronger, bolder and full of much more flavor.

One of my favorite things about french press coffee is the variety of beautiful beans from around the world that you can grind yourself to brew the coffee. When I first heard about Heartwood Coffee Club I couldn't be more excited. Receiving two bags of fresh, high quality coffee straight to my doorstep every month from Cleveland?! Yes please! I was a little skeptical at first because I'm picky about my coffee but let me tell you, this coffee is delicious! And not only delicious but SO full of flavor.

The packaging is fresh and simple and the 100% Arabica house blend whole beans are just gorgeous. Not to mention how amazing they smell! There is just something so good and delicious about grinding whole coffee beans and brewing your own fresh coffee in the morning.

Never made french press coffee before? No worries! My beautiful cousin (@nat_tasteslovely) explains exactly how to make it in her blog post here. Don't own a french press? Don't worry, William Sonoma has them for under $40 here. Want to try a Heartwood Coffee Club monthly subscription and need a sweet deal to get started? Well, you're in luck! Heartwood Coffee club is giving you 25% off your first order with the promo code BEAN. Oh! And shipping is always free. I mean, it's just so easy! Happy coffee drinking!

*Thank you to @heartwoodroastery for sending me your delicious coffee and for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

Lipstick Love

If there is one makeup product that I love, it's lipstick. In every color. Matte. Shiny. Pink. Red. I think it's one of the easiest ways to make yourself look put together and add a little bit of color to any outfit.  Just when I think I have all the colors I will ever need, I find a new pinky/pretty/shiny lip color that for some reason is NOTHING like the other 64 lipsticks I already own. How can that be?!?

left to right: |"Angel" by MAC | "Charlotte" by NARS | "Harlow Red" Art Stick by Bobbi Brown | "All Fired Up" by MAC | "Anna" by NARS | "Syrup" by MAC | "Girl About Town" by MAC | "Pink Sequin" lip gloss by Bobbi Brown |

("Syrup" by MAC)

My favorite way to carry my lipsticks while traveling are in these amazing Stella & Dot poufs. They are the perfect size and super easy to pack. Some of my favorite patterns are this onethis oneand this cute elephant one

Here are some of my current favorite colors that I've been wearing non stop!

1. "Angel" by MAC - This is such an everyday soft pretty pink color. It's actually kind of baby pink with a slight shimmer. This is definitely a great color for spring but have also found myself wearing this all year round.

2. "Charlotte" by NARS - These lipsticks are a little more pricey but OH SO gorgeous. This color is the perfect rich berry color that I've been constantly wearing this winter. It is long lasting on the lips and the color is so striking!

3. "Harlow Red" Art Stick by Bobbi Brown - I LOVE these art sticks by Bobbi Brown. They are so easy to apply and the color is so rich and beautiful. I love this red color because it's creates the perfect red lip - not too orange, not too ruby red. It also stays on like crazy without smearing. There are also many other colors that are all gorgeous.

4. "All Fired Up" by MAC - If you want a matte looking berry pink, this is a great choice! I love wearing a hot pink lip in the summer but also during the grey winter months to add a pop of color to any dull outfit. It's perfect for a girls night out!

5. "Anna" by NARS - Like the other NARS lipstick this creamy beige pink is an everyday go to for me. It's about 3 shades darker than "angel" and more of a toned down pink. Gorgeous with a gray sweater and big scarf.

6. "Syrup" by MAC - Oh Syrup...how I love you all the time. I've worn this lipstick for years...this is probably my third or fourth stick of it. It's definitely more sheer and gloss-like which has me wearing it way more. If I don't want a dramatic color on my lips one day but I want color, I choose Syrup. Beautiful light sheer pink.

7. "Pink Sequin" lip gloss by Bobbi Brown - If you read my blog, you know by now that I love the Bobbi Brown lip glosses. So it's not a "lipstick" but whatever. I wear this color ALL THE TIME. It also is great to layer on top of any of these lipsticks to add a little shimmer.

8. "Girl About Town" by MAC - This is such a FUN hot pink! I love wearing this if I'm feeling extra spunky or about to go out on a date with hubs. This is such a girly pink color so of course I love it! (P.S. it's the color I'm wearing on my lips in the first photo of this blog post)

To be honest, it was very hard to narrow it down to 8 lipsticks. But for now, these are my most worn colors that I find myself taking everywhere with me. Oh! And don't be scared to wear lipstick. People tell me this all the time - "You can wear it but I can't because it doesn't look right on me". The more you wear it, the more comfortable you will get. Promise. Have an amazing Monday!

Birchbox Store NYC

About a month ago while visiting New York, I had the chance to visit the Birchbox store in Soho. Talk about sample heaven! First of all, it is the cutest little store with unlimited samples, products and new brands I've never even heard of. It's a beauty lovers dream come true! Right when you walk through the doors, you look up and see this amazing "BYOB" sign in lights. A cute sign in bright lights!?! I'm in!

BYOB stands for "Build Your Own Birchbox". You get to choose 1 sample from each of the sections which are hair, face, body, scent & makeup. If you want, you can skip a section and pick two items from a category you really like - for example, I skipped scent and picked two hair products.

Here is a list of the products I picked - some I've tried before and absolutely love, and some are brand new to me.

Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask by BioRepublic - This mask is full of aloe and vitamin E to give your face major hydration. This is great to bring while traveling to give your face a little boost of hydration after flying on an airplane. Beware, this is one of those popular sheet face masks that make you look super crazy scary....good luck not laughing when you put it on!

- Klorane Dry Shampoo - I've used this product before (actually got it in a previous Birchbox) and love it! It's from France and one of the best dry shampoo's I've tried. I love having the sample size because it works perfectly for travel. (This does spray on white but blends so well when you rub it in. Like REALLY rub it! That's what activates it and blends it in!) This was also a 2015 Best of Allure Beauty winner!

Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon Mascara - Ok...I really couldn't believe that they gave me this $29 mascara in full size! It was considered a "sample choice"! Score! I love the curved brush on this Aussie made mascara and feel like it actually did add some curl to my lashes. Overall a pretty great mascara but if I was going to spend over $25 on a mascara I would probably go with the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir that I talked about in this post here.

AYRES Body Polish - What drew me to choose this sample was the AMAZING smell. I got the scent "Pampas Sunrise" which is incredible! This is a body polish that you use in the shower or bath that has little beads that massage and exfoliate your skin. I love this stuff so much I might be buying the full size.

R+Co Park Ave Blow Out Balm - I love R+Co products and this was one I had never tried before. It smells SO good and you only have to use a very small amount to get a full, bouncy and controlled blow dry style. This is my pre go-to blow dry balm now!

Illume Mini Tin Candle - This little candle was an extra little gift from Birchbox! They let me choose whatever scent I wanted and I went with "Coconut Milk Mango" which is simply put.....WOW! Such an amazing scent. Such a cute little candle!

If you are ever in the Soho area, make sure to stop by the Birchbox store. It is such a cool experience and you won't regret it! If you have never heard of Birchbox, it's a must try! You spend $10 a month to get a cute little box full of sample products (usually 5 different samples) which they select for you based on a profile you fill out. It's a great way to find new products & try things you would never even think about using! Sign up here & try it for a month! It is SO fun!

*Thank you so much to Birchbox for choosing me to be a Birchblogger and letting me visit (and take pictures) in your beautiful store!

Soho Style

Oh Soho, you are my new New York favorite. About a month ago, Bryan and I took a trip to New York and spent an entire day walking & exploring the cute little streets of Soho.  We both decided that next time we come back to New York, we will definitely be staying in Soho. There are SO many cute restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, that you really can't go wrong.  I chose this outfit for exploring the city because there was no way I was roaming the streets where Carrie Bradshaw walked without looking fashionable! How could I live with myself if I didn't?!

One of the hardest things to find while traveling is comfortable BUT cute shoes. Bryan & I walk almost everywhere when we are traveling (mostly because we eat so much it balances itself out!) so bringing comfortable walking shoes is important. But sometimes I want to dress it up a little bit. That's where these amazing ankle boots come into play. They are both fashionably cute AND so comfortable to walk in. It's a win win. Oh, and they come in so many colors it's ridiculous!

Another item I loved from this look was this amazing jacket by Mural (@ Nordstrom). It gives you a dressed up look but it also has the faux leather that makes you feel very cool. Unfortunately the jacket is sold out but here is a VERY similar one. (And its 40% off!)

What's On My Bookshelf

How many of us start a new year with the goal to read more in the next coming year? I know I do. I love reading, but finding the time to do so is hard. In the end, I'm always glad when I sit down in silence and read a good book. My goal for this year is to try to set aside 1 hour - 3 times a week to read.  (And when I say read, it does NOT include Vogue or Porter! Ha!)

Here are some current reads that are on my bookshelf, some I've finished, some I haven't started yet.  I'm sharing my thoughts below if you need a little book inspiration!

1.) We Were Liars - I finished this one and loved it! We Were Liars is about a wealthy family that spends every summer together on a private island. Lets just say, there are some secrets! It was a very easy read. Warning....it can be a little slow, but hang on until the end. It's worth it!

2.) Love Style Life - This book just screams gorgeousness! Especially if you love fashion, happy living & pretty things. I've shuffled through this book a couple of times and can't wait to dive deep into it! I also love a book that's beautiful enough to act as decor on a coffee table. This is one of those!

3.) Room - (Deep breath) This book is scary and hard to read at times but SO good. The movie came out in October and I have yet to see it yet but got goosebumps watching the trailer. This book is hard to put down and keeps you in suspense.  The story is told from a perspective of a 5 year old boy who is being held captive in a room with his mother. Like I said, slightly scary but hard to put down.

4.) Wildflower - I talked about this book in this post here and still haven't read it yet! BUT, its on my list for this month and I can't wait to dive into it. Drew Barrymore writes the book and shares stories and challenges that she's experienced in her life. It's suppose to be great!

5.) It's All Good - Ok, now this is a cookbook, but it's filled with pages that actually interest me to sit down and read it. The book is written by Gwyneth Paltrow and is full of raw, natural, unprocessed recipes that actually look incredible. The cookbook itself is just beautiful and I love the natural vibe it portrays.

6.) All The Light We Cannot See - I'm halfway through this book right now and I'm loving it! It takes place in Paris and portrays the life of a little girl who is blind living through World War II. It's a beautifully written book with such a interesting story line. It's a pretty big book (500 + pages) but easy to read!

Hopefully this post inspires you to read more this year! Have any good book ideas for me? Leave me some recommendations in the comments below, I would LOVE to hear them!
Have a fantastic Monday!

NYC Library Look

One of my favorite parts about going to New York last month was visiting the New York Public Library. Those marble steps are everything! It was only fitting that I brought along this stylish backpack for a fun day of site seeing. This backpack was perfect for exploring the city because it has a zipper and a button flap for a little extra security. It was also nice being hands free while shopping on 5th Avenue!

These Sperry Saltwater Duck Boots are SO comfortable and SO cute! I love that you can wear them with jeans even when it isn't raining. They slip right on and fit with perfection. I wore these all day while walking around New York and they didn't hurt at all! Stylish, waterproof and comfy. Win win!
