Current Beauty Favorites

When I think of my everyday "simple" makeup routine, there are a couple of products I can't live without. Sometimes I don't want to wear a full face of makeup, so I stick to a few easy, simple and pretty products. If I only have 5 minutes in the morning, I will definitely always be wearing mascara, blush and lip gloss. Those are my go-tos. Mascara is one of those products that I love to try, test and constantly rotate in my routine. These are my top 3 mascaras as of right now:

Marc Jacobs Velvet Major Volume Mascara : First of all, I love this packaging. It's a bigger mascara that just looks gorgeous in your bag. The more I've used this mascara, the more I love it. The brush is just the right width and length and the mascara is a very deep black color. It gives your eyelashes tons of volume and makes them look thicker than ever. You don't get any residue under your eye after wearing it all day and its easy to get off without scrubbing your eyes. If you want to splurge on a nice mascara, this one will not disappoint.

L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara : This is a drugstore must-have for me! Talk about an amazing mascara. I love how this mascara makes my lashes look long, full and much more voluminous than I think they really are. I get the regular "blackest black" color (NOT waterproof) and I feel like it lasts all day without smudging.

L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara : This is another amazing mascara by L'Oreal (honestly I usually always love every mascara made by them). The reason I love this mascara so much is all because of the brush. This brush separates your lashes like no other brush I've ever used. Sometimes I will use the False Fiber Lashes mascara first and then take the Butterfly mascara brush through the lashes to make them look separated and super long. I ran out of this mascara about 2 weeks ago and constantly found myself missing the look it gave to my lashes. No clumps ever with this one!

Gimme Brow by Benefit : When it comes to a quick eyebrow look, I find myself always gravitating towards Gimme Brow by Benefit. It's a very small tube & brush (that somehow doesn't ever seem to run out!) that provides a tinted volumizing gel for your eyebrows. I love traveling with this and have definitely grown to love it the more I use it for an "everyday" brow look. I also love Benefit's  Brow Zings Shaping Kit but I use this more when I want a thicker and darker brow.

The POREfessional Face Primer by Benefit: This is a light weight balm that minimizes the appearance of your pores while adding a tiny bit of coverage. It's amazing! This is one of those products that shows an immediate difference to your skin when applied. This product is smooth and feels like silk when applied to your face. I apply it around my nose, middle of my forehead and chin. What a difference!

Bobbi Brown Blush : My all time favorite blushes....and believe me, I've tried many.  I love the beautiful rich colors and the way they feel like velvet when you brush them on your face. The color is long lasting, looks beautiful & fresh on the cheek bones. My favorite colors are "Sand Pink", "Pastel Pink", "Plum" and my go-to in this picture is "Desert Pink".

Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss : I received my first Bobbi Brown lip gloss last Christmas as a gift and haven't looked anywhere else since. I love the feel and look of every single shade I've purchased. These are a stickier lip gloss but I love how long lasting they are. I use to hate sticky lip glosses, but I've gotten use to them now and love them.  There is a slight shimmer to each gloss that adds the right amount of pretty to an everyday look.

* I received the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara as a gift from Influenster & Marc Jacobs Beauty, but all opinions are my own. I have also made a promise to never share things on my blog that I don't absolutely love and use myself. *

Central Park Chic

Central Park is one of the most magical places. A huge park in the middle of an enormous concrete city - just amazingly gorgeous. Grabbing a coffee and walking for hours around the park is my happy place. People watching is limitless, horse drawn carriages are all around & street performers playing carols on the violin makes it really dreamy. Wearing this "Olivia Pope" style coat felt so chic & so perfect while strolling through the park. I also couldn't get enough of this gorgeous light pink plaid scarf that is under $13.

Last Minute Gifts & Stocking Stuffers for HER

We are 7 days away from Christmas and that means last minute gift shopping is upon us! Here are some fabulous last minute stocking stuffer ideas for HER.

1.) Stella & Dot Wishing Bracelets - I love these little wishing bracelets from Stella & Dot. They make great little gifts for only $19 each. This elephant bracelet is a very popular gift because the elephant symbolizes "strength" and it's a great little reminder to give to friends. These are my other favorites : this one & this one. (p.s. Stella & Dot is offering guaranteed standard shipping before Christmas if you order before Monday 12/21!)

2.) Bobby Pins - Every girl always needs bobby pins AND every girl always looses bobby pins frequently. I always love getting bobby pins in my stocking to replenish my supply! These rose gold ones from are the cutest & prettiest! (p.s. You can find items at Nordstrom & The Paper Source so you don't have to expedite shipping online OR you can find them on Amazon Prime)

3.) Travel Face Masks - Gifting someone with a mask while traveling is a wonderful idea. Usually when traveling people forget about the importance of their skin and traveling can really make your skin dull & dry. These clear improvement mask pods by Origins are the best traveling partners. Each pod actually gives you enough product for two days worth of masks and they leave your face feeling refreshed, smooth and hydrated. (p.s. You can find these Origins masks at Macys, Sephora, or Amazon.)

4.) Nail Polish - Nail polishes are the perfect little stocking stuffer! I absolutely love these Formula X nail polishes because they look like gel, shine like crazy and don't chip for at least a week. There are over 94 colors to choose from and they are up to 50% off right now!

5.) Cute Charging Cords - I love the idea of having a different style charging cord for traveling. It makes the charging so much more chic! I absolutely love these ones from!

6.) Lipsticks | Lip glosses - I always love gifting lipsticks to people because sometimes you pick a color they would never try but end up loving. These tinted lip treatments come in the most adorable packaging and go on more like a tinted chapstick. I was just at Anthropology yesterday and they had so many options to choose from!

7.) Travel Perfumes - Another great little stocking stuffer idea is travel size perfumes. No one ever wants to pack their large fragile perfume bottle in their luggage, so travel size perfumes are the greatest! You can also carry them in your purse for those days when you need a little freshening up. The Royal Apothic collection from Anthropology is a great travel perfume. It comes in a multitude of scents, colors and sizes -  if you did want the bigger size. My favorite scent is Hot House Peonie.

8.) Fun Matches - I love decorating our place with pretty matchbooks! These cocktail matches would look so cute on a bar or in your kitchen. Fun matchbooks can also add the perfect little detail to a bathroom. Anthropology always has adorable matchbooks for every season. I mean....look how cute these ones are!

Good luck with the rest of your Christmas shopping! Hopefully I gave some of you some good ideas to finish up your gift list!

Hi friends! Today I'm excited to share with you where we ate, drank, explored & stayed in Vancouver, Canada. This was our first time in Canada and we loved every minute of it!

Where To Stay in Vancouver:
We stayed at the Delta Vancouver Suites located on West Hastings street - about an 8 minute walk from Gastown and a 7 minute walk to the waterfront / Canada Place. Gastown was one of my favorite parts about Vancouver! Such cute streets, lined with Paris-like street lights with endless amazing food & drink stops.  There is also the historic Gastown clock which is a working steam clock that whistles and shoots steam every quarter hour. It's a beauty! We were able to walk everywhere from our hotel and I highly recommend staying in Gastown or close to it.

What To Explore/See in Vancouver:

Stanley Park : Stanley Park is one of the prettiest locations I've ever been to in my life. It is just one scene of gorgeousness after another. Bryan & I rented bikes from across the street at Spokes Bicycle rentals and rode along the Stanley Park Vancouver seawall. (It probably took us about 1.5-2 hours) The leaves were the greatest shades of fall and the scenery was just perfection. I kept reminding myself while riding to never forget the beauty of that exact moment.

Granville Island : Granville Island is a peninsula shopping district in downtown Vancouver with tons of shops, food and little markets to explore. It somewhat reminding me of Pikes Place Market in Seattle. There are also some great outdoor views for great pictures right outside the market. (See first picture from this post)

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park : The Capilano Suspension Bridge Park was a great attraction for breathtaking Canada views. There is a shuttle that picks you up from downtown Vancouver and takes you to the park. It took us about an hour to walk around the park and take in the gorgeous scenery. The suspension bridge is 460 feet long and a very neat experience!

Where To Eat & Drink in Vancouver:

Revolver Cafe Bryan & I stumbled upon this little cafe on our first day in Vancouver. We were there a total of 3 times in 2.5 days.....that's how much we loved this coffee shop! Not only was the fresh-pour over coffee to die for, but the atmosphere of the cafe was ideal. Small little booths lined the left side of the cafe and there was even another small room next door to seat more guests. The guys there know everything about fair-traded coffee and it's just plain DELICIOUS. If you appreciate a good tasteful coffee, this place cannot be missed.

The Flying Pig Yum! Yum! Yum! Talk about good food. We loved this place. What we loved even more was the "Jumbo Short rib Mac". Yes, you read that right- Short rib mac & cheese. It was DELICIOUS. I mean, probably one of my favorite foods from traveling so far. And to be honest, we ate it twice. Once when we first got there and a second time before we hopped on our flight back home. Cute atmosphere, delicious food and a great place for happy hour or as they call it, 'Appy Hour.

Meat & Bread : What a wonderful place for lunch. Such a small cute little place that offers a tiny menu but every sandwich on it looks so tasty! They make your sandwich in front of you, place it on a cute wooden board & you can order small glasses of wine to go with it!

Pourhouse Restaurant : This was our first dinner location & what a perfect one! It had a great city vibe, a wonderful menu (where we wanted everything! - always a good sign), & big delicious glasses of wine. The "Scotch Egg" was fantastic!

The Salt Tasting Room : What a fun experience! The restaurant itself is picture perfect, all of the wines pair fantastically with the food and the presentation is definitely Instagram approved. There is a huge chalkboard in the back of the restaurant that lists all of the options for you. You can choose 3 items total from the meat & cheese section, 3 condiments and then your choice of 3 wines. Everything was delicious!

L'Abattoir  : Loved this place! What a BEAUTIFUL atmosphere and some of the BEST craft cocktails I've ever had! Each drink was beautifully prepared, with such great flavor. We didn't eat here, just stopped in for drinks but let me tell you, everybody else's food looked pretty amazing! If you are thinking about visiting Vancouver, definitely put this down as a place to stop in for a drink. Don't miss it.

Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar : If you like oysters, this is a must stop for you. We stopped here for oysters & a glass of champagne after we biked Stanley Park. Talk about feeling fancy! The oysters were SO fresh & paired perfectly with the bubbles. Did I mention that the outside of the restaurant is the cutest?

Gringo : This place might be small, but its FULL of flare and fun. Gringo is a inexpensive taco bar down a small alley way in Gastown full of bright colors and very interesting drinks. My drink came with a gummy worm in it - so fun, different and good! We were just going to stop in for a drink but when we found out how inexpensive the tacos were, we just had to try them. AND so happy we did! Delish! Warning: we did have to wait outside for a little bit because it is very small/crowded. But we were so glad we waited. Quite the experience!

Water St. Cafe : This was our choice for dinner on our second night in Vancouver. Located right in Gastown under the cute little street lights lies this charming and cozy restaurant. We sat at a table by the window where we enjoyed huge bowls of pasta and wonderful wine. It has such a romantic setting and is considered a Vancouver landmark since 1988.

The Lamplighter Public House : If you are looking for a pub-like place to enjoy a beer and watch a game, this is the place to do it. What I liked best about it though was that the food, atmosphere and drink were really good, not like some pub food I've experienced. We had brunch here on our last day in Vancouver and they had a HUGE and impressive "build your own Caesar" bar (Very similar to our Blood Marys). This is a good place to take your guy for a Vancouver style beer and a little sports watching.

Overall Vancouver was full of some of the best food and drink I've ever had. I would say you could definitely do the city in 2-3 days & make sure you come hungry!

Plaid Flannel Dress

Happy Monday! Here's a little style inspiration to start your week!

Dresses & boot... one of my favorite fall & winter combos. Sometimes wearing a dress during this time of year seems impossible. It's not. Any plaid flannel dress with a pair of boots and a scarf is the perfect fall outfit. Add tights if you want. Plain black tights, patterned tights, dotted tights. They will all look amazing. This dress is sold out...AND hopefully coming back in stock from Old Navy soon. In the meantime, here are some similar options:
Plaid dress #1 , Plaid dress #2  , Plaid dress #3 , Plaid dress #4

Let's talk about Hunter Boots. I love them. I have them in three different colors and find myself wearing them all the time in the fall & winter months. Sometimes the price can be intimidating but trust me, they are worth every penny. I walked all around Europe last year in a pair of these and was so happy that my feet didn't hurt one bit. One of the best things is that you can buy different colored and patterned inserts to change up the look of your boots, like these cute ones. Definitely a favorite of mine.

The Vintage Crystal collection from Stella & Dot is SO perfect for the Holidays. It matches with everything, adds a little sparkle to any outfit and can be worn down with a plain tee-shirt and jeans. Also, this crossbody bag is perfect for traveling throughout the holiday. You can wear it three different ways and the straps can be removed to be carried as a clutch. Pretty genius.
